COVID-19 Update: League Games Postponed until April 5

Published on March 13, 2020

As more information comes available regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) the City of Huntsville Department of Parks & Recreation will follow the recommendation of Little League Baseball and Softball regarding department-run leagues. Parks & Recreation is postponing youth softball and baseball leagues, as well as adult spring softball and adaptive basketball, until Sunday, April 5.  The City believes this is in the best interest of employees, volunteers, participants and families and will continue to monitor the situation on a day-by-day basis.

At this time, all recreation fields, parks, pools and facilities will remain open to the public. Events and leagues run by outside organizations have the option to continue or cancel activities as their governing body decides.

Our department is dedicated to the health and safety of the public and will be sanitizing shared surfaces on a regular basis. Hand sanitizer is also available at all facilities and we ask for the public to follow the CDC guidelines on practicing good hygiene.
