Construction begins on new buildings at Redstone Gateway.

New retail buildings at Redstone Gateway were the top non-residential building permits issued last month. Residential permits and certificates of occupancy (CO’s) decreased year-over-year.


Residential Permits (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:
In December, 70 housing units were permitted, all single-family. The top tract for building permits last month was 112 (Martin-Zierdt), where 15 units were permitted. This is a 38.6% decrease over December 2016, when 114 housing units (78 single- and 36 multi-family) were permitted.


Residential Certificates of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:

91 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy (CO’s), 80 single and 11 multi-family. The top tract for CO’s in the month of December was 109.01 (Hampton Cove) where 15 housing units were added, all single-family. This is a 12.5% decrease from December 2016, when 104 housing units (103 single- and 1 multi-family) were granted CO’s.

Orange: Contract amount greater than $1 Million

Green: Contract amount between $500,000-$999,999

Blue: Contract amount between $100,000-$499,999
