Design contract certified for next section of North Huntsville Greenway

The City of Huntsville entered a design contract with Barge Design Solutions Inc. for an engineering service for the next segment of the North Huntsville Greenway.
The portion of the greenway covered by the contract, known as Segment C, consists of approximately 4,500 feet of greenway between Holmes Avenue and Pratt Avenue, connecting the city’s transit center to the current PARC greenways, parallel to Pinhook Creek. It includes surveying, permitting and design of two precast pedestrian bridges over Dallas Branch and Pinhook Creek, and a gateway trailhead.
The contract work is expected to be completed in two years.
The North Huntsville Greenway is a visionary project designed to connect downtown Huntsville with Alabama A&M University – sparking recreation, redevelopment and reinvestment in the neighborhoods along its path.
