Ditto Landing Announces Regional Search for New Executive Director

Published on December 2, 2015

The Ditto Landing Board of Directors announced a regional search for a new Executive Director to lead the Huntsville/Madison County Marina and Port Authority. This position comes at an opportune time for Ditto Landing. The waterfront attraction just completed a BIG Picture master planning assessment outlining a vision and direction for the future that includes renovations, expansions and new construction.

“We recognize the enormous potential of Ditto Landing to better serve the recreational needs of the greater Huntsville area,” said Wally Kirkpatrick, Ditto Landing Board Chair. “Thanks to tremendous public input, we now have a viable master plan to make Ditto a premiere destination. The person we select to lead Ditto will be key in helping Ditto realize these possibilities.”

The Executive Director will oversee strategic and operational responsibilities for Ditto’s administration and staff as well as fundraising and communications. The position calls for a college degree with at least five years senior management experience and a track record of success. Huntsville City Council Member Jennie Robinson and Madison County Commissioner Phil Riddick have been strong advocates in advancing the presence of the park and marina.

“This is one of the most important hires we will make in Huntsville because of the impact Ditto can have on our region,” said Robinson. Riddick agreed with his colleague and added that Ditto’s future depends on the Board’s ability to hire the best and brightest. “We have long recognized we need professional leadership to move Ditto forward and execute the plans that we have worked hard to establish with key stakeholders and citizens in our community,” said Riddick.

The Ditto Board will accept applications through January 15, 2016. A job description is attached and posted at dittolanding.com.
