From fitness to festivals, Huntsville Parks & Recreation offers fall fun for everyone

Published on August 25, 2023

Fall is on the way. The crisp mornings and pleasant evenings will be a welcome change after a long, hot summer, but there’s more to look forward to than cooler temperatures.

Huntsville Parks & Recreation is offering more than 100 programs this fall. Nearly all of them are free, including many new offerings such as sewing workshops, a youth basketball clinic, beginner pickleball groups, a sensory art class and Parents’ Night Out.

The season also marks the return of Citywide Boot Camp. In addition, there are a host of special events, including a new fall festival, Jazz in the Park and Halloween activities at recreation centers across the City.

To help residents make the most of these opportunities, the department’s Fall Program Guide lists everything in one easy-to-use resource. Looking for the closest park, playground or recreation center? Users will find that in the guide, as well.

“As we continue to expand our programming and activities, we want to ensure everyone knows what’s available in their community,” said Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett.
