Mayor Tommy Battle and Healthy Huntsville invite the public to join them on a free, one-mile walk through the Huntsville Botanical Garden with their leashed dog or an adoptable one from Huntsville Animal Services. The walk will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 6 p.m. in the Garden.

“I enjoy Healthy Huntsville events with our City departments, and Huntsville Animal Services is one of our leaders in promoting walking as a beneficial form of exercise,” explained Mayor Battle. “The Healthy Huntsville initiative showcases all different types of workouts and walking is one of the most universal options for people. If you have a dog that can join you, that’s even better!”

The Huntsville Botanical Garden walk is in conjunction with their “Fidos After Five” program, where leashed dogs are welcome in the Garden on Mondays -Thursdays, from 5-7 p.m.. in August and September. Citizens are welcome to join the walks, even if they don’t have a dog.
