Green Team 2019 Huntsville Beautification Awards

Earlier this month, the City of Huntsville’s Green Team awarded more than 300 beautification signs to property owners and businesses who Keep Huntsville Beautiful. The Huntsville Beautification Board has been honoring properties with beautiful and litter-free curb appeal in Huntsville since 1975 with the City of Huntsville, Alabama Beautification Awards.
This year, The Mayor’s Award, considered the most prestigious prize given to the most outstanding property, was awarded to the Stadium Place Shopping Center. To receive the award, the property must win a beautification award for five years, become an honor roll winner and achieve a perfect score of 100 by beatification judges and members of the board.
Green Team also recognized three special Partners of the Year including the Huntsville Utilities Water Department, Officer Joel Stephens of the Huntsville Police Department – West Precinct and Officer Dwight Atkinson of the Huntsville Police Department – West Precinct.
The City of Huntsville Beautification Board was created in 1965 and seeks to improve the appearance of Huntsville through encouraging and applauding the efforts of private and public sectors in making a more healthful and beautiful city. The Beautification Awards Program recognizes those who do just that by making an outstanding contribution to the city’s beautification efforts through superior landscaping and well-maintained properties.
