Green Team to host annual Spring Plant & Cleanup Supply Giveaway, April 14

Huntsville’s Green Team is celebrating Earth Month with a host of community cleanup events across the City. To help facilitate these efforts, Green Team is sponsoring a Spring Plant and Cleanup Supply Giveaway on Friday, April 14, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Jaycee Building in John Hunt Park. The public is invited to drive through and pick up a FREE tomato and cucumber plant along with a box of garbage bags.

“This is the time of year when people are working in their yards and putting out plants for the season and we want to help support those efforts,” said Brian Walker, Director of Landscape Management. “We encourage everyone to keep Huntsville beautiful and litter-free.”

Walker also encourages residents to check out the Green Team calendar for upcoming community cleanup events.

“There are so many opportunities to pitch in and help keep Huntsville clean and green,” he said. “It’s a great time to volunteer for a community cleanup, plant a tree, or adopt a spot or a stream. If everyone will do their part, we can keep Huntsville clean and green.”
