HPD to manage traffic for Mae Jemison High School homecoming parade

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) will provide traffic control and public safety support for the Mae Jemison High School Homecoming Parade on Thursday, Sept. 4, in the Rolling Hills neighborhood.

The parade will begin at Rolling Hills Elementary School at 5 p.m. and will travel west on Hilltop Terrace, south on Wayne Court, west on Nabors Lane and south on Lumary Drive, ending at the rear of the school.

Roads along the parade route will be closed starting at 4:45 p.m. and will reopen after the parade ends. Closures will also be in effect at the following intersections:

  • Hilltop Terrace at Wayne Court
  • Wayne Court at Nabors Lane
  • Nabors Lane at Lumary Drive

HPD’s Traffic Services Unit will monitor the route, direct traffic and ensure the safety of parade participants and spectators.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes when possible.
