With Halloween is fast approaching, those with a loving home who get a kick out of dressing up their furry friends should take advantage of a “spooktacular” offer from Huntsville Animal Services (HAS).

The shelter is now offering adult canines and felines at a reduced rate of $10, though some exclusions apply. Puppies and kittens can be adopted for as little as $50.

HAS Director Dr. Karen Sheppard said kennels are at capacity as about 15 dogs and cats are coming in each day. Each adoptable pet is vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped and comes with a City license and free bag of pet food.

Those who are unable to adopt can also foster and help get an animal out of a stressful environment until a permanent home can be found.

Located at 4950 Triana Blvd. in Huntsville, the shelter is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
