The Huntsville Music Office is proud to announce that three Huntsville artists—Common Man, Jayne Huntsman and Hugh Lindsey—have been selected to participate in the prestigious TIVEDEN songwriter residency and music exchange in Sweden this August.

The TIVEDEN residency, taking place Aug. 24–30 at Sandviksbaden, Sweden, is an international program that brings together artists, writers and music professionals for co-writing, performance and cross-border collaboration.

This year’s expanded program includes new partnerships with the Huntsville Music Office and Iceland Sync from the nation of Iceland, as well as showcases and industry events in Örebro and Stockholm.

“TIVEDEN started as a songwriting exchange, but over time it has become something bigger — a way to build real working relationships between artists, music communities, and industry partners across countries,” said Drew Young, co-founder of TIVEDEN. “This year’s partnerships with Huntsville and Iceland Sync feel like a natural next step. It gives the artists more than a week of writing. It gives them access to people, places, and opportunities that can continue long after the residency ends.”

As part of the Huntsville Music Office’s partnership, Common Man, Jayne Huntsman and Hugh Lindsey will also represent Huntsville at the Live at Heart festival in Örebro, Sweden.

Huntsville will host the festival’s opening party on Wednesday, Sept. 2, and the selected artists will perform at a dedicated showcase—sharing their music with an international audience and connecting with artists from across Europe.

“This opportunity is a testament to the talent and creativity found throughout Huntsville’s music community, and we’re incredibly proud to see local artists representing our city on an international stage,” said Matt Mandrella, Huntsville Music Officer. “Programs like TIVEDEN allow our musicians to build new creative relationships, reach international audiences, connect with industry professionals and bring valuable experiences back to Huntsville’s growing music ecosystem, all while strengthening our city’s presence within the global music community.”

The residency week will feature a Friday showcase at Sandviksbaden, a Saturday showcase in Örebro and an industry meet-up and alumni show at Twang in Stockholm.

The Huntsville Music Office’s involvement underscores the city’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and supporting local artists.

Additional details about the artists’ performances and showcase schedules will be announced closer to the residency.
