Huntsville Parks & Recreation announces fall sports signups

Published on July 20, 2023

It’s time to sign up for one of Huntsville Parks & Recreation’s fall youth sports. Families can now register in-person or online through Aug. 5 for flag football, soccer and volleyball.

Parks & Recreation organizes eight leagues throughout Huntsville, including American, Continental, Eastern, International, Lakewood, Liberty, Metro and Northern. Parents or guardians can use the City’s virtual locator to find the league closest to their home.

“Our fall sports are a wonderful opportunity for youth to enjoy the outdoors and our parks facilities through friendly competition,” said Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett. “We wish all our teams a safe, successful fall sports season.”

Continental, Lakewood, Metro and Northern leagues will host in-person registration on the following dates:

  • Continental League: The next three Saturdays (July 22, 29 and Aug. 5) from 9 a.m. to noon at Brahan Spring Recreation Center, 3770 Ivy Ave. SW
  • Lakewood League: The next three Saturdays (July 22, 29 and Aug. 5) from 9 a.m. to noon at Lakewood Community Center, 3601 Kenwood Drive NW
  • Metro League: Monday through Friday from 2-6 p.m. through Aug. 11 at James Lane Boys & Girls Club, 103 Abingdon Ave.
  • Northern League: The next three Saturdays (July 22, 29 and Aug. 5) from 9 a.m. to noon at Stoner Park, 3715 Bragg St., NW. Northern League will also accept on-line registrations here.

American, Eastern, International and Liberty leagues offer online-only registration. Visit the Youth Athletics page and click the “Leagues” dropdown menu under “Contact Your League” to find applicable links. If you’re unsure which league to contact, please call 256-564-8026.
