Huntsville Parks & Recreation’s inaugural HerPower Walk set for March 16

Published on March 1, 2024

Lace up your walking shoes and join Huntsville Parks & Recreation for the inaugural HerPower Walk on Saturday, March 16, from 9-11 a.m. in Big Spring Park.

Men and women of all ages are invited to the event, which celebrates Women’s History Month with a free 3-mile walk. Food trucks will have concessions for purchase and gift bags will be provided while supplies last.

The walk offers participants a chance to enjoy the beauty of the park while celebrating the remarkable women who enrich the lives of citizens, from the bustling corridors of Redstone Arsenal and Research Park to small business owners, teachers, medical workers and Parks & Recreation employees.

“The HerPower Walk embodies our commitment to fostering inclusivity in our programming,” said Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett. “It’s another testament to our dedication to creating events where everyone feels welcomed and valued.”
