Huntsville Police locate missing man, Xavier Chambers, deceased

The search for 31-year-old Xavier Calvin Chambers ended tragically Thursday, Oct. 16, when the Huntsville Police Department (HPD) located him deceased.
Chambers was last seen on Friday, Oct. 10, around 8:30 a.m. in the area of Madison Boulevard in Madison, Ala. after police were called to check on him while he was walking his dogs. When officers arrived, Chambers had already left the area and was not seen by police.
Since his disappearance, HPD conducted extensive searches, followed multiple leads and worked closely with partnering agencies in an effort to locate him.
On Oct. 16, around 11 a.m., HPD searched a targeted area in the 9500 block of Madison Boulevard with assistance from the Alabama Fish and Game, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Randalls Adventure & Training Search and Rescue (RAT-SAR), Search and Rescue Technicians K-9 Team, the North Alabama Search and Rescue Association and Huntsville Cave Rescue. During the search, a team from RAT-SAR discovered a deceased individual later identified Chambers.
At this time, no foul play is suspected. The investigation remains active pending further findings from the Madison County Coroner’s Office.
