Published on February 28, 2025
A man has been found guilty of multiple felony charges following an extensive investigation by the Huntsville Police Department’s (HPD) Special Victims Unit.
Justin Norfleet, 29, of Huntsville, was found guilty of first-degree rape and two counts of second-degree kidnapping, stemming from two separate incidents in 2021. Norfleet had posed as a ride-share driver to commit the crimes.
“This conviction is a testament to the strength of the survivors and the tireless efforts of our investigators,” HPD Police Chief Kirk Giles said. “We remain committed to holding offenders accountable and ensuring that victims have the support and justice they deserve.”
Sentencing for Norfleet will be scheduled at a later date.
HPD urges ride-share users to verify the vehicle’s make, model, license plate, and driver’s name before entering.
Anyone who has experienced or witnessed similar incidents is encouraged to come forward, with support available through law enforcement and victim advocacy groups.
