Huntsville Public Works experiences bulk collection delays

Published on June 29, 2022

The City of Huntsville’s Public Works Department thanks residents for their patience as crews work to catch up on bulk waste collection.

Public Works Director Chris McNeese said workers are seeing higher-than-normal volumes of bulk items left at curbsides as residents work on home and garden projects. The department is also operating with fewer collection vehicles because supply chain issues have impacted the City’s ability to receive parts necessary to make repairs.

“We apologize for the inconvenience, and we ask for continued patience as we navigate these challenges,” McNeese said. “We will work diligently and make every effort to return to our normal scheduled collection days.”
