Published on June 13, 2024

The City is moving ahead with plans for improvements on Lowe Avenue that include street parking to accommodate the under-construction federal courthouse.

The streetscape project spans Lowe Avenue between Lowery Boulevard and Madison Street. Also included in the project are improvements on Davis Circle and Pelham Avenue, from the Monroe Street traffic circle to Lowery Boulevard, that will also provide street parking.

Lowe Avenue will be transformed to provide street parking for federal courthouse.

Lowe Avenue will be reduced from four lanes to three between Lowery Street and Madison Street to accommodate 47 street parking spaces at the courthouse. Along with the reconfigured roadway, the project will feature decorative streetlighting, multi-use path, landscaping and hardscaping.

On Davis Circle/Pelham Avenue, sidewalks, landscaping and decorative lighting will be included.

Grayson Carter & Son Contracting Inc. was awarded the bid for the projects.
