City says goodbye to Imagine Huntsville, encourages ideas via Big Picture website and social

The City of Huntsville’s contract with IdeaScale, the platform that brought Imagine Huntsville to life, ended on December 31, 2019. The City launched Imagine Huntsville in 2013 as an online platform for Huntsville citizens to submit ideas ranging a wide variety of subjects to contribute to the City’s planning and growth. Eventually, the platform evolved to focus on generating ideas for the City’s Big Picture Comprehensive Plan, which was presented to the public via a dedicated website in 2018.
Imagine Huntsville was managed by the City of Huntsville’s Planning Department. On behalf of the Planning Department, Manager of Urban and Long Range Planning Dennis Madsen said, “We want to thank you for all of your hundreds of ideas and comments over the years on Imagine Huntsville, and please rest assured, your input on this website is valued and important to us, and it will be archived.”
“We sincerely appreciate all the time and thought you put into the Imagine Huntsville message board. It was by all measurements more successful than we would have ever dared hope when we first began it. You helped make the BIG Picture into a great plan, and we look forward to continued dialogue on our new website BigPictureHuntsville.com and via social media as the plan moves forward.”
