Innovate Huntsville 2017 set for Feb. 27-March 3

Mayor Tommy Battle announced the second annual Innovate Huntsville 2017 will take place on February 27 – March 3. The week is dedicated to bringing entrepreneurs, local resources and innovators together to build momentum and opportunity around Huntsville’s unique entrepreneurial identity.
Innovate Huntsville 2017 provides collaboration and celebration of all things entrepreneurial and serves as a culmination and outreach of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. It will feature events, panels and social activities, including the region’s brightest entrepreneurs, investors, strategic advisors and community supporters, all of whom contribute to Huntsville’s thriving startup ecosystem.
“Innovation is in Huntsville’s DNA,” said Mayor Battle. “It’s the reason we are designing the propulsion systems taking humankind farther than we’ve ever been before. It’s the reason we are working on cures for some of the most difficult-to-treat and diagnose diseases at HudsonAlpha. This is a week that honors innovation and what it means for our community, but it’s also an opportunity to reflect on the countless entrepreneurs in our community who have and who are taking the leap and the risk to create something great…something that will change the way we do business or deliver services and redefine what we think is possible.”

Supporting a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem is just one of the reasons why the Women’s Business Center of North Alabama hosts the Entrepreneur Awards as part of Innovate Huntsville 2017, according to Erin Bloxham Curtis, Chief Operating Officer of WBCNA. “The Entrepreneur Awards allow us to focus and celebrate on the accomplishments of the individual entrepreneur while encompassing more than just a company.”
