‘Invest in You’: Healthy Huntsville offers tips for National Wellness Month
Published on August 8, 2023
HUNTSVILLE, AL – Healthy habits are formed one day at a time. With August recognized as National Wellness Month and the summer winding down, now’s the perfect time to invest in your physical, mental and social health.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), healthy habits are built by making a plan, being accountable and recognizing your success. Healthy Huntsville, the City’s wellness initiative, wants to help!
Throughout August, Healthy Huntsville will offer tips and resources on healthy living to help Rocket City residents reach their full potential. Tips will come from local experts such as Kevin Ready, the City of Huntsville’s Wellness & Fitness Coordinator.
“Good health is investing in the gift we’ve all been given to thrive and do our best with the mind and body we have,” he said. “It starts with the choice to move, to eat and to think with intention.”
Resources for a healthier lifestyle include everything from a membership at the Johnson Legacy Center to exercise events like Fitness in the Park and the Mayor’s Bike Ride. Activities and fitness classes are also available at recreation centers throughout the City.
