For the last several weeks, Huntsville Parks & Recreation crews have been working to get the City’s splash pads ready for the season.

There are three locations, and all are free to use. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a family member who is 16 years of age or older.

Everybody Can Play

The Everybody Can Play splash pad will open Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m. Regular hours of operation are Monday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Located at Brahan Spring Park (3771 Ivy Ave. SW), it offers a seating area with two picnic tables and attached bathrooms for easy access. There’s also a large pavilion available for rent.

Dr. Richard Showers, Sr. Splash Pad

The Showers splash pad will open for the season on Monday, May 9, at 10 a.m. Regular hours of operation are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Located at the Dr. Richard Showers, Sr. Recreation Center (4600 Blue Spring Road NW), it includes a large pavilion and numerous shaded benches. Users of this splash pad have access to the bathrooms and locker rooms at the pool.

Bicentennial Park

The Bicentennial Park splash pad opening is temporarily delayed due to maintenance issues. Once open, it will be in operation Monday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Located directly behind the EarlyWorks Children’s Museum (315 Fountain Circle), the pad features a gazebo for shade, two picnic tables and benches. There are no public bathrooms.
