Live Fire Training for New Cadet Class of 2016

Published on June 1, 2016

A live fire training exercise will be conducted by the Huntsville Fire & Rescue Training Division on June 2nd 3rd and 7th 2016.  The training exercise will take place in three donated structures located at 4020 Independence Drive.

In preparation for the exercise the structure has been prepared and inspected.  All measures have been taken to protect the surrounding properties. During the training exercise nearby civilians may see black smoke coming from the area. However, should anyone have any concerns during the exercise, they are instructed to call 911. There will be three engine companies and one ladder truck to assist with the burn.

Fire & Rescue units will arrive shortly after 8:00 A.M. to make final preparations and the actual lighting of the structure will start around 9:00 A.M. each day. We will be teaching the new recruits interior operations and then will transition to defensive operations.

The exercise should conclude by 4:00 P.M.  Should we have inclement weather that prevents the exercise, we will re-schedule the exercise for another day to be determined.
