Major Crimes Unit Arrest

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) has charged Devontae Sherrod Moore, 27, with murder following a shooting incident on Monday, July 12.

Officers were dispatched around 11 p.m. to the 100 block of Indiana Street and discovered Kentonio Perkins, 22, deceased. HPD Major Crimes Unit Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a verbal altercation.

Moore is currently being booked into the Madison County Jail with a $75,000 bond.

Late Saturday evening, July 31, two additional arrests were made in the case. Jack Deonte Chapman, 25, and Raques Deshon Peebles, 26, were booked into the Madison County Jail for the shooting death of Kentonio Perkins. Both individuals are facing a murder charge. Chapman and Peebles each have a $75,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
