Industrial expansions and a hotel renovation were among the top non-residential building permits in November. Residential permits and CO’s decreased year-over-year.


Residential Permits (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:

In November, 109 housing units were permitted, 103 single- and 6 multi-family. The top tract for building permits last month was 113 (Green Mountain/Owens Cross Roads), where 18 units were permitted, all single-family. This is a 16.8% decrease over November 2017, when 131 housing units (90 single- and 41 multi-family) were permitted.


Residential Certificates of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:

110 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy (CO’s), 106 single- and 4 multi-family. The top tract for CO’s in the month of November was 109.01 (Hampton Cove) where 23 housing units were added, all single -family. This is a 25.2% decrease from November 2017, when 147 housing units (87 single- and 60 multi-family) were granted CO’s.
