‘Oh, what fun,’ as Big Spring Jingle comes to downtown Huntsville

Published on December 1, 2023

Huntsville Parks & Recreation is excited to announce a new festive event that’s sure to become a family favorite. Big Spring Jingle brings together the very best of the Huntsville holidays in one central location.

On Friday, Dec. 8, from 5-8 p.m., Big Spring Park West will transform into a winter wonderland with special holiday lighting, music, a dance floor, prizes and giveaways. Even Santa is taking a break from his workshop at the North Pole to visit and pose for photos with his friends. His arrival also means a strong chance of flurries in the park.

Residents with special needs or who have sensory disorders are invited to attend from 4-5 p.m. to enjoy the same fun event, but with lower sound volumes, smaller crowds and no line to visit Santa.

As Big Spring Jingle is presented in partnership with the Huntsville Museum of Art and Downtown Huntsville, Inc., festivalgoers are also invited to enjoy Skating in the Park, grab dinner from nearby restaurants or the food trucks on Church Street and visit Tinsel Trail.

“We are thrilled to host Big Spring Jingle alongside these outstanding community partners,” said Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett. “We invite everyone to come out and celebrate the holidays with us. It’s going to be a great evening of fun and entertainment for all ages.”

All activities, except Skating in the Park and food purchases, are free.
