Huntsville Police are currently investigating an overnight police shooting involving 41 yr. old Bradley A. Pugh. HEMSI was staged at the Command Post and attempted to render aid to Pugh. He succumbed to his injuries sustained in the incident.

Just after 9:30pm on November 16th officers were called regarding a possible gunman on the roof of a business at 212 Andrew Jackson Way. When officers arrived they witnessed a person on the roof with a gun, later identified as Pugh. Officers secured the area by evacuating citizens close by and blocking several roads to protect the driving public. HPD notified media of the ongoing situation for public safety.

The HPD CNRT (Crisis Negotiation Response Team) responded as well as SWAT. After several hours of negotiation Pugh came down the ladder on the side of the business. Officers attempted to apprehend him when he began to flee on foot into a residential area. During the foot chase, Pugh pulled the handgun from his waistband. HPD personnel were involved in a shooting with Pugh at that time.

There is still an on-going investigation into the shooting. As in any police related shooting, there will be an Incident Review Board reviewing the facts of this incident at a later time. More information can be provided when that review is complete.
