The Huntsville Police Department Major Crimes Unit is investigating two late night shootings that resulted in the death of two people.  Both shootings happened between midnight and 1:00 a.m.

Officers responded to the first shooting in the 6200 block of Karen Davie Drive around 12:15 a.m.  Officers found a 41 year old white male victim inside an apartment with multiple gunshot wounds.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  Investigators are searching for a black male wearing either a red or white hoodie.  The victim’s name is being withheld pending the notification of next-of-kin.

Officers responded to the second shooting in the 2200 block of Evans Avenue at 12:45 a.m.  It appears there was an altercation between several people and shots were fired.  While officers were attempting to locate the crime scene, four victims from the shooting arrived at Huntsville Hospital in personal cars.  Officers recovered several bullet casing in the street on Evans Avenue.  One of the men shot, 18 year old Phillip Montague of Huntsville, died at the hospital as a result of his injuries.

Neither of the shootings appear to be random acts, and investigators believe there were arguments or altercations that led up to both shootings.

If anyone has any information about either of the shootings they are asked to contact the Huntsville Police Department at 256-722-7100.
