Huntsville Sanitation Department is experiencing delays in picking up curbside bulk waste throughout the City.

“It turns out that staying at home has motivated our residents to clean out closets, garages and basements,” said Chris McNeese, Director of Public Works. “When you add spring yard work into the mix, our trucks are running full trying to manage the extra waste.”

Residents are encouraged to leave their bulk waste and yard debris on the curb and crews will be by as soon as possible to pick it up.

Weekly trash pick-up for your household garbage in the large green can is on schedule. However, personnel shifts during the coronavirus outbreak may cause some service delays in the future. In the event this occurs, please do not worry. Leave your green can curbside and collection crews will be by as soon as possible to pick it up.

Sanitation is committed to serving the public through the health crisis and appreciates the public’s patience.  If you have questions about your collection, email Samuel.evans@huntsvilleal.gov or call 256-883-3964.
