Saturday Downtown Road Closures

There will be multiple special events taking place in the downtown area on Saturday, and the Huntsville Police Department wants the community to be aware of the streets that will be closed.
Starting at 7:00 a.m., officers will begin shutting down the affected streets, and they will be reopened at approximately 5:00 p.m.
Affected Streets
- Jefferson Street/West Side Square/Madison Street, between Clinton Avenue and Gates Avenue
- North Side Square/Spring Street, between Washington Street and Spragins Street
- Fountain Circle/South Side Square, between Gates Avenue and Franklin Street
Businesses in the areas affected by the street closures will still have sidewalk accessibility during this time.
As a reminder for anyone attending a public demonstration, according to Alabama Criminal Law, 13A-11-59, it is unlawful for anyone to have a firearm on their person or in their vehicle while attending or participating in any demonstration at a public place.
