More office construction topped the list of non-residential projects permitted last month. Residential CO’s increased year-over-year.


Residential Permits (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:

In September, 105 housing units were permitted, 99 single- and 6 multi-family. The top tract for building permits last month was 109.01 (Hampton Cove), where 20 units were permitted, all single-family. This is a 13.9% decrease over September 2018, when 122 housing units (104 single- and 18 multi-family) were permitted.


Residential Certificates of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:

124 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy (CO’s), 117 single- and 7 multi-family. The top tract for CO’s in the month of September was 109.01 (Hampton Cove) where 28 housing units were added, all single-family. This is a 44.2% increase from September 2018, when 86 housing units (83 single- and 3 multi-family) were granted CO’s.
