On August 17th, Agents with the Madison-Morgan County HIDTA Drug Task Force (STAC) charged Ernesto Bustos of Huntsville with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, and made the largest seizure of ICE in the history of the STAC Unit.

The arrest and seizure was the result of a search warrant being served following an extensive investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine. The warrant was served on Bustos apartment in the 6200 block of Rime Village Drive in Huntsville.  Subsequently that search led Agents to a storage unit in the 2900 block of Drake Avenue that also belonged to Bustos.

As a result of the investigation Agents seized 6.8 pounds of methamphetamine (ICE) with a street value of approximately $250,000.  Agents also seized nearly $10,000 in cash.  This is believed to be by far the largest seizure of methamphetamine in the history of the STAC Unit.  The investigation continues and Agents hope it will lead to more arrests and seizures.

If you suspect drug activity in your neighborhood contact the STAC office at (256)427-5456.
