Attendees are encouraged to come in costume to this free, family-friendly event featuring festive games, candy-filled car trunks and waived adoption fees on most adorable adoptable pets (some exclusions apply).

Each adopted pet comes spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to head home with a loving family before the trick-or-treating begins.

“We love hosting this event every year because it brings our community together in such a fun way,” said John Fischer, Director of Huntsville Animal Services. “Families can enjoy Halloween festivities and, at the same time, open their hearts to a pet in need. There’s nothing better than seeing a dog or cat head home right before the holidays.”

In addition to the trunk ‘r treat fun, visitors can tour the shelter, snap festive photos with adoptable animals and talk with staff and volunteers about fostering, adoption and pet care resources.
