Veterans Day Parade to bring road closures, heavy foot traffic to downtown Huntsville

Published on November 8, 2024

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) advises motorists to expect traffic delays and road closures in downtown Huntsville on Monday, Nov. 11, due to the annual Veterans Day Parade. This year’s parade will follow a new route, offering spectators more space and improved visibility.

Several streets and intersections along the parade route will close in phases beginning at 8 a.m., with all streets closed by 10:30 a.m.

The parade will begin at Lot K on Woodson Street Northwest and Holmes Avenue Northwest, and end on Clinton Avenue West near Woodson Street Northwest. Roads are expected to reopen at 2 p.m.

Additionally, the Interstate 565 exit ramp to downtown Huntsville will be closed during the event.

HPD reminds drivers to exercise caution, be mindful of increased foot traffic and plan their routes accordingly. For a detailed map of the parade route and road closures, please see the attached map.
