Weekend Shooting Death

The Huntsville Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating a Homicide that occurred in the early morning hours on Sunday, November 26, 2017.  The victim, Mark Anthony Chandler Jr. (29 years, of Huntsville) was a passenger in a motor vehicle traveling west on University Drive near Meadow Drive, when an unknown offender in a second vehicle fired into his vehicle.  Mr. Chandler was fatally wounded and later pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the vehicle received minor injury and was also treated at the hospital.

It is believed that the incident began with a verbal argument between the victim and an unknown individual outside of a night club on Country Club Ave in Huntsville. If you have any information, please contact the Major Crimes Unit Investigators at (256)427-7247.
