In an effort to reduce overcrowded kennels, Huntsville Animal Services (HAS) is waiving adoption fees on all adult cats and dogs through Saturday, Sept. 11, though some exclusions apply. All adoptable pets are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped and come with a City license and free bag of pet food. A trench collapse Thursday resulted in a multiagency response to free three Huntsville Public Works employees. The workers were installing a storm pipe at the northern end of John Hunt Park.
