Huntsville redistricting plans formally introduced

The City of Huntsville made progress on its 2021 redistricting effort when four plans were formally introduced at the Huntsville City Council’s regularly scheduled meeting on Dec. 2. The plans were previously presented and discussed during five public hearings held in October and November at City Hall. Huntsville’s Erick Wade was recently honored for his volunteer work with the City’s Operation Green Team and the Adopt-A-Mile programs. Wade received the Alabama People Against a Littered State (PALS) Governor’s Award at a ceremony at the Renaissance Convention Center in Montgomery. Alabama PALS provides anti-litter programming to improve the environmental and economic impact on the state. Huntsville’s four designated historic districts are home to some of the state’s oldest dwellings, and the Huntsville Historic Preservation Commission’s (HHPC) mission is to ensure they are preserved for future generations.
