4 tips to help maintain air quality in Huntsville
Published on April 30, 2025
Air quality is something we tend to take for granted in Huntsville but it’s critical to pay attention to our daily choices. In our growing city, it takes all of us to help keep our air clean.
Here are a few easy tips to help reduce air pollution:
- Drive Less, Ride More: Consider carpooling when you can, using the greenway system if possible or taking public transit. Even carpooling twice a week can make a difference. Plus, it saves money on gas.
- Keep Your Vehicle in Check: Regular vehicle maintenance, especially emissions-related repairs, helps your car run cleaner. Electric and hybrid vehicles have a smaller impact on the environment as well.
- Go Electric for Your Yard: Whether it’s a lawn mower or a leaf blower, switching from gas-powered to electric tools helps cut down on pollutants. Plus, they’re quieter and can be easier to maintain.
- Plant Something: Trees and plants naturally filter air, and the more greenery we have, the better our air quality. Consider adding a few native plants or shade trees to your yard.
Small actions, when done collectively, have a big impact. Green Team appreciates everyone making conscious choices each day to reduce air pollution in our community.
