Huntsville Police issue arrest warrants in fatal Binford Drive shooting

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) has obtained arrest warrants for Tyshaun Dominique Darnell Hampton, 23, of Huntsville, on charges of murder and first-degree assault following a fatal shooting Tuesday, Sept. 16, on Binford Drive.
Officers responded around 10 a.m. to reports of a shooting in progress. On arrival, they located two men with gunshot wounds.
One victim, Caleb Troy Martin, 25, of Decatur, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation by HPD’s Major Crimes Unit revealed Martin was initially involved in an altercation with the second victim. Hampton then intervened, and when Martin attempted to fight him, Hampton pulled a firearm and shot him. The same round also struck the second victim.
Investigators are actively searching for Hampton. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Huntsville Police Department at 256-722-7100.
