Arrest Made in Overnight Shooting

Published on July 10, 2017

Huntsville Police have charged Thomas Couch, 32 of Huntsville, following an overnight shooting.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the 2800 block of Fairbanks Street around 11:45 last night.  One person was taken to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the arm.  His injuries were not life-threatening.  Couch was in a neighboring apartment and refused to surrender to officers.  Surroundings apartments were evacuated for safety concerns, and at approximately 2:30 a.m. Couch surrendered to officers.

It appears Couch shot the victim because he was upset about fireworks being shot in the area by several people.  He was charged with Assault 2nd degree and booked into the Madison County Jail.
