City of Huntsville, City of Madison and Madison County will close on Tuesday, Jan. 16

The City of Huntsville, City of Madison and Madison County government operations will be closed, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, due to the winter weather event and hazardous road conditions.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the area through 6 a.m. Tuesday. Continued sleet and snow, along with below-freezing temperatures, are causing icy road conditions.

For the City of Huntsville, the closure includes Municipal Court, and all municipal services and facilities. Huntsville Transit will not run Orbit bus transportation, but Access will continue to pick up dialysis patients.

Huntsville garbage collection will experience delays for the remainder of the week. Residents should place their trash cans curbside on their regularly scheduled day and leave them there until crews can pick them up.
