City of Huntsville offices to close for Labor Day

City of Huntsville municipal offices will close Monday, Sept. 5, for Labor Day. This includes Animal Services, Public Transit (Orbit and Access) and Municipal Court. City offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6.

  • Garbage Collection: Residential collection will be delayed one day the week of Sept. 5-9. Residents should leave carts at the curb until they are collected.
  • Parks & Recreation: All facilities will be closed, except the Brahan Spring Park and Dr. Richard Showers, Sr., splash pads, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Public Safety: Essential police and fire personnel will remain on duty throughout the holiday.
