The City of Huntsville and AshaKiran invite the public to the 14th annual Community Kite Festival on Saturday, March 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at John Hunt Park, 2151 Airport Road, Huntsville.
The free, family-friendly event is designed to bring together residents of all ages and backgrounds for a day of fun, culture and community connection.
The Community Kite Festival is a beloved annual tradition that promotes inclusiveness by encouraging participants to fly colorful kites, enjoy local food trucks and activities and connect with neighbors and vendors in a welcoming outdoor setting.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own kites, purchase one at the event or simply come out to enjoy the sights, sounds and celebratory atmosphere.
“We are thrilled to continue this wonderful tradition that celebrates the diversity and unity of our community,” said Dr. Randy Barbour, the City’s Multicultural Affairs Director. “The Community Kite Festival is an opportunity for individuals and families from across Huntsville to come together in a joyful and inclusive space while enjoying a fun day of flying kites.”
The festival will also feature free art projects, interactive activities for children, entertainment, community exhibitors and opportunities to connect with local organizations committed to serving and uplifting residents.
Organizations interested in participating as an exhibitor at this year’s festival are encouraged to register using the online form.
