Council certifies municipal election results – declares District 5 runoff election on Oct. 6

The Huntsville City Council canvassed and certified the results of the August 25 municipal election and declared the following candidates re-elected for a term to begin on November 2, 2020:

  • Tommy Battle – Mayor
  • Devyn Keith – District 1 City Council Member
  • Michelle Watkins – District 1 School Board Member
  • Carlos Matthews – District 5 School Board Member

In a separate action, having opened and counted provisional ballots with City Clerk-Treasurer Ken Benion, the Council declared a run-off election for City Council District 5. Voters will choose between candidates Will Culver and John Meredith on October 6.
