The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) is advising residents and drivers to prepare for temporary road closures and potential traffic delays as the City of Huntsville hosts the U.S. Paralympics Cycling Time Trial in and around the Columbia High School area.

Friday, March 28

Event setup will begin at 9 a.m. To accommodate preparations, southbound Explorer Boulevard will be closed from Farrow Road to the Columbia High School entrance. Expect increased congestion and delays near the school throughout the day.

Saturday, March 29

The race will take place from 6 a.m. to noon. During this time, all of Explorer Boulevard and its interior roads will be affected, leading to significant traffic delays in the area.

HPD officers will be on-site to manage traffic and assist the public as needed. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes and allow for extra travel time. Pedestrians and spectators are urged to follow safety guidelines and be mindful of race participants and event staff.
