RAIN CANCELLATION: Healthy Huntsville and Furry Friends Take a Hike in the Huntsville Botanical Garden
Published on September 24, 2018
This event has been canceled due to inclement weather.
Mayor Tommy Battle and Healthy Huntsville are excited to kick-off the fall with a walk around the Huntsville Botanical Garden on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. This walk is a partnership with the Garden’s “Fidos After Five,” so feel free to bring your leashed furry friend to enjoy the exercise and ambience of the Huntsville Botanical Garden!
Also joining us will be pups from Huntsville Animal Services looking for their forever home. Take the dogs on our group walk and see if you fall in love! Admission to the Garden is free when you let the front desk know you are there for the Healthy Huntsville walk.
Healthy Huntsville focuses on the core concepts of nutrition and exercise to encourage our local residents to embrace healthy lifestyles. As Mayor Battle says, “exercise can take many different forms, and part of our goal as an initiative is to introduce and encourage different forms of exercise to Huntsville. Walking is a tried and true way to improve your circulation, reduce stress levels and increase muscle tone.”
We Walk Huntsville members will be setup with a booth to provide more information on the benefits of walking, as well as different opportunities to walk with groups throughout Huntsville and Madison County. Learn more about our other partner groups that help plan and support our events: Huntsville Hospital, HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, Huntsville-Madison County Health Department and Huntsville City Schools.
