Healthy Huntsville partners with Scale Back Alabama to Help Residents Reach Health Goals

This year, Healthy Huntsville’s partnership with “Scale Back Alabama” is going virtual. Scale Back Alabama (SBA) is a free, statewide wellness program for adults, ages 18 or older, who live in Alabama or work for an Alabama-based organization. It is designed to encourage Alabamians to get healthy and have fun while doing it.

In years past, there was only one goal of Scale Back Alabama: To lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks. This year, participants will set up to three of their own goals, as well as participate in weekly challenges that SBA will announce as the 10-week program progresses.

Scale Back Alabama and Healthy Huntsville will help participants reach their goals with different resources and tips throughout the challenge. Setting three goals and achieving them each week gives you the greatest chance at winning a prize! Participants that complete each week’s SBA challenge will be entered into a prize drawing for that week. Prizes will be Amazon e-gift cards.

“Scale Back Alabama is a great program that kick-starts the new year for individuals and their health goals,” said Mayor Tommy Battle. “I participate each year with City Attorney Trey Riley and am glad that I have an accountability partner. While teams are optional this year, I highly suggest finding someone that will participate with you and encourage you to reach your goal.”
