HPD Homicide Arrest

Today, Huntsville Police Major Crimes Unit arrested Shamekia Strickland, 38 years old, for the murder that occurred on Laurelwood Lane on March 3, 2021.

Huntsville Police were dispatched to the 5100 block Of Laurelwood Lane for a deceased male. Officers located the victim Jessie Suttle, 76 years old, deceased in his apartment bedroom.  Mr. Suttle had sustained multiple injuries from a physical altercation that lead to his death. At that time, Huntsville Police initiated a death investigation that lead to the arrest of Shamekia Strickland.

Shamekia Strickland has been charged with Capital Murder and is currently in the Madison County Jail.
