Huntsville Fire Promotes Two New Deputy Chiefs

Huntsville Fire & Rescue promoted two new Deputy Fire Chiefs. They began their new assignments on Monday January 29th, 2018.

Deputy Chief Tim Barnack has more than 28 years with the department at various ranks and has served as the Training Division Chief since 2009. He has played a vital role in the development of our Heavy Rescue and Rough Terrain Rescue capabilities among many other accomplishments. Deputy Chief Barnack has maintained his license as a Paramedic, is certified to the highest level of Fire Officer Training offered through the Alabama State Fire College and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration.

Deputy Chief Derrick Stuckey has advanced through the ranks for the last 24 years. He has served as a District Chief managing the staffing and emergency response for a huge portion of the City for the past 6 years. Chief Stuckey has maintained his license as an Emergency Medical Technician, is certified to the highest level of Fire Officer Training offered through the Alabama State Fire College and holds an Associate’s degree in Fire Science.

Fire Chief Howard McFarlen said, “I am very pleased to be able to add Chief Barnack and Chief Stuckey to these key positions on our Command Staff. They both bring years of experience and great enthusiasm to ensure that Huntsville Fire & Rescue provides the best service possible to our citizens.”
