Huntsville municipal offices closed Dec. 31 for New Year’s holiday

The City of Huntsville’s municipal offices will close Friday, Dec. 31, for the New Year’s holiday. Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3.

Residential sanitation service will not be impacted because there is no garbage collection on Fridays.

The following City services will be affected:

• Animal Services: Huntsville Animal Services will be closed Dec. 31-Jan. 1.
• Municipal Court: Huntsville Municipal Court will be closed Dec. 31.
• Parks & Recreation: Recreation centers and facilities will be closed Dec. 31-Jan. 1. Centers with regular Sunday hours will be open Sunday, Jan. 2.
• Public Transit: Orbit fixed-route and Access paratransit services will end at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31. There will be no service Saturday, Jan. 1.
• Public Safety: Police and Fire will be on duty through the weekend.
