Huntsville Music Office helps launch national Association of Music Offices, strengthening music ecosystems across the country

As a founding member, the Huntsville Music Office joins a collaborative effort to champion shared resources, amplify best practices and strengthen the cultural and economic impact of local music ecosystems nationwide.

Music Officer Matt Mandrella explained that the momentum behind AMO speaks to the growing recognition that music is essential civic infrastructure.

“The Huntsville Music Office is honored to play a part in shaping something that reflects the commitment and vision of music leaders across the country,” Mandrella said. “To be on the team helping steer this effort, and to witness how quickly the enthusiasm has elevated into a truly nationwide movement, has been incredible.”

AMO’s national leadership will focus on:

  • Establishing governance and membership structure
  • Developing data and measurement frameworks to quantify music’s economic and cultural impact
  • Building community engagement models that support diverse and inclusive music ecosystems
  • Creating a centralized resource hub for toolkits, funding mechanisms, programs and educational materials
  • Organizing an annual calendar of forums, convenings, policy roundtables and working groups
